Underfloor heating part 2

Jun 2020

We almost have heating in the whole cottage… what a treat!

The last bit of concrete was hand poured in the bathroom area, the insulation went down and all the underfloor heating pipes laid ready for the screed.

We now have level, dry, soon to be warm floors… and after 6 months of starting and stopping it’s quite exciting.

We’ve gone for the quick dry screed again so in a week we can start to turn the heating on which will help dry out the damp walls. There was a slight issue of a water leak on the already laid floor… but it all seems to be drying ok.

In a couple of days, once it’s dry enough we’ll be pulling all the old tiles off the bathroom and utility walls before the new stud walls start going up. I can’t wait to have a bathroom… and a shower back.
