Doing what we can

Apr 2020

We’d just started digging out the floors but luckily hadn’t ripped out the bathroom when lockdown happened. So other than having to walk through mud to have a shower we’re doing ok and looking forward to getting back to work when it’s safe for everyone to come to the house.

Our boiler broke down the other week too, thankfully the lovely team at Baxi ordered the part and then came out to fix it so at least the heating is back on in half the cottage which is good as it’s turned very cold the last week or two, luckily the weather seems to have turned and it’s starting to get a little warmer!

For the past few weeks we’ve been getting a few things done in the cottage and will be spending lots of time in the garden as the weather gets warmer.

We also found a pipe in the floor… presuming it’s maybe from a field drain in the back so we’d better not break it!

On another note the swallows have come back from their winter away and are considering rebuilding their nest in the outhouse… and the buzzards have been getting into trouble with jackdaws… or the other way around – aerial attacks!

p.s for anyone that posts a comment.. we do read and approve them but there’s a problem with replying and I haven’t quite figured out why yet so we can’t respond… thanks for reading and supporting with your kind words 🙂
