More destruction

And now for phase two of phase 1 – digging out the floors in the other half of the cottage, insulating and getting some heating in – plus a bathroom, 2 bedrooms and utility room.

Before the team arrive on Monday with their pneumatic drills we thought we’d do some of the messy stuff – we’re very good at demolition 🙂

So the red room as we call it was the first room to attack… I think you can see why it’s called the red room – and it’s awful and very therapeutic to rip it all out!

There are lots of stud walls to rip out too, mostly used to stop the damp stone walls from causing issues but we’re planning on changing the drainage channel at the back of the house to move the water away so we can get rid of these.

Next came tearing down the stud wall for the small bedroom we’ve been living in since October – best thing about this room was the lovely view of the garden – I miss that as our bedroom now looks out the front not the back… maybe we’ll make a master bedroom with lovely views of the garden in the extension we’re talking about… maybe! This door will also become a window shortly.Â
