Kitchen up and running

Feb 2020

Now the kitchen is fully functional we couldn’t be happier… it’s the biggest kitchen we’ve ever had and it’s such a joy to cook in a spacious clean kitchen, compared to the little black room at the end we’ve been using for the last 3 months… which is now being demolished!

It’s also the first time we’ve had hot water from a tap since we moved in… how exciting 🙂

Walls are whitewashed and tiling for the splash back will be happening this week, although the extractor will be fitted later as it turns out I bought an island extractor by mistake!

I even bought a new kettle and toaster too 🙂

Still more to finish and it won’t be truly complete until phase two when we dig back the garden and fit lovely french doors – which I’m tempted to paint on the walls to remind myself what’s to come.

On another note, we’ve also got doors – lovely doors that keep the draughts out and the heat in… we would have liked to keep the old bar and brace cottage doors but most were warped, didn’t shut properly and probably wouldn’t be the right height with the new floors, so we bought new – and this gave us the chance to put some fire doors in too, seen as we’re one long building – safety first!
