The Homestead Gathering

Sep 2019

August Bank Holiday was spent at a fabulous little music festival, The Homestead Gathering, in Chollerton.

Run by Richard and Meryl, and with all profits going to a range of national and local charities, it was an amazing weekend of music in the sun.

One of the best things about this festival is it’s just along the road from us, so we had a beautiful walk along the river to our neighbours property, hearing the music as we got closer.

With local and national bands, beers and food companies each day brought something different. Plus it’s dog and family friendly so there was always something going on.

The walk home along dark country roads was quite eventful. Staring up at a starlit sky, seeing the milky way (my phone doesn’t take good night shots so I don’t have a photo!), chatting to neighbours as you pass by and they happen to be out at 1am, and local wildlife by torchlight – hedgehogs 🙂
