I love it when you uncover something that’s been hidden for decades…

The small open fireplace we’ve been using to keep warm was always going to be replaced with a sealed multifuel stove. So the stone surround and inset was removed and on one side we saw a stone lintel which has been covered with plaster and bricks for who knows how long. 

Chisel and hammer in hand we started to uncover all the lintels to find an amazing, and huge, fireplace which will eventually be opened up making a perfect home for our new stove!
