Wildlife bonanza
Not a lot’s been happening inside the cottage as I’ve been recuperating from having my gallbladder removed… so instead here’s some of the local wildlife we’re lucky enough to watch from the window.
We have some very friendly birds visiting our feeders… and sometimes the window – say hello to a very chatty Tree Pipit 🙂
The woodpeckers are back… with their chicks. Our first year here we had lots of video of woodpeckers at the feeders, but last year for some reason, we didn’t see any.
This year we’re lucky enough to have the male bringing the slightly fatter fluffy chick to the feeders and hanging out in the dead tree.
We’ve got buzzards flying overhead – most days being chased by a flock of crows.
Mike had to rescue a baby shrew that kept running round our drive in circles… he picked it up and put it back in long grass, thankfully with gloves as Google does say don’t pick up as they’re aggressive and bite – good job this was a baby!!
We’ve got the odd rabbit and hare too – a lot less than last year for some reason – maybe there are more buzzards this year!
We’ve also been really lucky to spot a hedgehog on our night vision camera – woohoo!
