Mr pheasant has a family
Our friendly pheasant hadn’t been around for a few days and we thought maybe he’d gone to wildlife heaven… but no… he’d been busy having a family… and he’s brought them to visit us 🙂
Mr Pheasant comes right up to us now as he knows we feed him… he’ll almost eat out of your hand. When we didn’t see him for a few days we thought that was it.. but no – he feels confident enough to bring his family to visit us. We think there’s 4 young ones but they run away into the long grass the second they see you so it’s hard to count.Â
Another reason not to mow the field at the moment – they love to play in there and eat the grass seeds, and you never know they may even be nesting in there.
We love living in the countryside 🙂
