Moving day
Goodbye city, hello countryside.
Moving day was a long time coming, Friday 3 May 2019 was the big day. It all happened very quickly in the end, with only a couple of days notice, but luckily we’d been packing up the house for months and had already put lots of our things in storage.
We hired a great removals team (Low Fell Removals, shout out – you were amazing!) who did all the heavy lifting for us, especially as we were moving from a four story townhouse that had a lot of stairs! Expecting chaos it was surprising how smoothly everything went with only one of the cats in the street trying to stowaway, thankfully Eric was rescued by a neighbour before he was squished by a sofa!
A 30 minute drive later and we had arrived… considering how calm the day was you’d think we would have remembered to take a photo of the removal team at one of the houses… but no, so instead here’s a photo of our storage unit, filled to the brim with things we aren’t even sure we need anymore, but that’s another story.
We’re so excited to get cracking on with the house (and believe me there’s a lot of work that needs to be done) but we’re also going to miss our house in Gateshead, it’s been a fantastic 15 years and we’ve made some lovely friends along the way.
So what to start first… the adventure begins!
